First Snowfall Outlook for Tuesday
By coloradotommy
Not a monster and subject to change, but this is how i see things shaping up….>
i think most of the area is in the advisory critera type snowfall. just north of lexington will be where the highest totals occur. here winter storm warning critera will be met.

Now, is that just with the 1st system, or the weeks totals..?

Hey Tommy, thanks for posting this, it’s something to look forward to, as I live in Johnson County. I sure hope you’re right!

Howdy Tommy the Cat! (A Primus song- could not resist).
The pattern of the snow totals surprise me. I would expect more of the north-west of KY to have better chance than central KY.
Interesting. I see a more northerly trend with the real fun in Ohio and higher, with KY being a decent fringe from the main action.
Not long to see! Good work!

Hey Tommy,
I agree with the southern half your totals map pretty well, however I’m not sure I agree with the 4-6 over the northern part of the state. Bufkit data out of Cinncy and Huntington was showing around 2-3 inches for them earlier. I’m not sure anyone in the Ohio Valley gets 4-6 out of this first clipper except maybe the mountains of WV. Just so happens to be where I am
. Still I think a good first call, and a brave, here’s hoping for a good verification!

My elevation at Oak Hill is roughly 2500 ft. So far we had two 4″ Plus snows, one in November, and another last week.

If memory serves on 12/9 we were dry… we had rain on the 10th with a little change over to snow. Looking back at the records we had a 3rd 4″+ I forgot about… 12/12.

I think the northern areas have a better shot in regards to the main event that will usher in the super cold temps. I still do not see the bend downward and up. Seems it would need some moisture from the south to pull this off and help draw the cold air down. If that were to happen, it would be a lot more than a few inches, but the point there is I am not seeing that either. Old school shut down about eleven years ago for most of us.
Not long to find out!
